The First Palm Film Festival Accepting Entries

It seems the video player is only available for the Clie, and the developer's site didn't say that it would be available for other Palm devices. In the FAQ, it seems to imply that this is something exclusive to Sony. Doesn't make much business sense to me. For Sony maybe, but not for Generic Media. Not a good way to warm up to the Palm os community. Activesky is free, available to all devices, and supports color now.

Where is the logic here? First what's up with Sony releasing the media player only on the Clie? It is one thing to make a Palm device that is far superior to the others that causes software made it to be incompatible with older devices. This not the case here, Sony made its product barely distinguishable from the rest, yet chose to create the media player to only operate on the Clie. I think this practice is not recommended on this platform. The PalmOS was built on the strength of its openendness. Secondly, why have a contest, OK Palm Film Festival based only using Sony's player? This is (nontraditional) opportunity to promote innovative usages of the palm platform. Active Sky, a competing player that runs on all comparable palmos devices, entries should be allowed entry. Last though: Why have the Grand prize be a Clie, when given the above truths, you already have one? A color Clie would make a better choice for prize.

I bought Palm IIIc w/ serial no. 10GB15K07WDE in Manila. Just barely after 2 months the palm gave me problem on its battery charging and life span. Palm asia gave me replacement for this faulty palm. The subsequent replacement exhibited the same problem just on the time i received it. Palm asia again exchanged the replacement unit with anothet palm(reconditioned or new?) Again the replacement after one week of usage game another problem. It will not switch on after morethan 2 hours of charging. You can turn it on if it is on its cradle, try to remove it on the cradle it will turn off automatically and worst will hard reset. The last E mail to palm asia regarding the problem were not answered and the most current answered only regarding about troubleshooting. This was after almost 5 working days, compared with their within 24 hour quick response before. Finally my last Email regarding the non functional palm IIIc troubleshhoting were not answered. Almost all palmtech support worlwide were copy furnished with my E mail. Now im wondering why palm asia does not respond to my queries. Did they stop with their after sales support after all replacement were proven defective and cannot perform to my expectation? Now afteralmost 2 weeks lying idle my palm IIIc replacement continued to switch on after cancelling my sync-ing with avantgo at the same time taking it out from the cradle. But the battery as with previous faulty replacement will charged up to half mark only of the battery charge indicator.The same charged palm will discharged also too fast. I have repeatedly experienced the same problem. My concern is the palm company aware of my problem regarding replacement or exchange. Are there many palm IIIc user experiencing the same. If palmasia up to now does not respond favorably or just answer my queries on my E mails I hope thru this comment other palm user may be able to be aware of the poor after sales service of palm asia. If after this still no actions were taken then its time for me to file customer complaint with our Department of Trade And Industry or to whom this concern is appropriate.
