Franklin Covey Offers m500 Hardcase
Franklin Covey now has a Palm m500 series compatible metal hard case. It has a rail that fits in the left channel slot to hold the Palm and an open window for the infrared port. It also sports a windowed I.D. slot. It is available now for $50.
It is 5 by 4 by .7 inches and comes only in metallic silver. It is available only from Franklin Covey.
Thanks to Bobby Wu and Brock for the tip. -Ed

RE: seems a little big
As for the metal, I believe it is brushed aluminum.

how about the Fellowes bumper case?
Fellowes has one like that but there don't seem to be any reviews about it on the net. Would an owner of that bumper case please comment on it?
TIA

RE: how about the Fellowes bumper case?
I have posted a message in comp.sys.palmtops.pilot asking for opinions on the M500/505 Bumper and have not recieved any answers yet. I am hoping someone has one and can offer up any thoughts on the slimmer version.
At any rate, when I recieve mine, I will be happy to share my thoughts on it.

Zipper case
I have used the Franklin Covey zipper case for a couple of weeks now. It bends all the way back, offers great protection,is $10 cheaper, and slips very comfortable into your front pants pcoket.

RE: Flamebait
The best thing to do is just ignore it. Replying will just encourage him. If you want to debate the m505 vs. Sony N series, there is a long argument under the article about the m525.

I am personally getting tired of hearing about this 'Clie' and that 'Clie' They keep coming out with
new models as if trying to "get it right" or something.
Besides 'Clie' sounds like some *** wannabe Pda.
Keep your Sony slanteyes or send them back to Japon.

seems a little big
For comparison, a naked Palm V/Vx is 4.5x3.1x0.4. And the Rhinoskin molded hardcase is 4.7x3.3x0.4. Thus adding 0.2 inches to all dimensions.
This new hardcase seems to have dimensions similar to the Halliburton case which is offered by Franklin Covey for the V/Vx and is gigantic in its proportions (I have seen this one in person).
With this series the slimmer the profile of the case the better.
BTW, does anyone know what metal this case is made of?
