Get the Info You Need While Traveling
One of the big advantages of a handheld is large amounts of information can be carried around in a small device. This is especially convenient when travelling. Two apps designed to get travelers the information they need have recently been updated: the 2002 Zagat Restaurant Guide and the Weissmann Travel Reports.
The 2002 Zagat Restaurant Guide offers full ratings and reviews for more than 18 thousand restaurants and 1,100 nightspots in 32 individually installable cities.
New in this version is support for external expansion media such as SD/MMC and CF cards. Users can access an entire Zagat library of 32 books on their handheld.
It includes 32 individual installable locations for the one low price of $30. Special pricing is available to registered owners of previous versions.
Weissmann Travel Reports now include recommendations for 124 cities worldwide. New reports include recommendations for Cincinnati, Ft. Worth, Istanbul, Osaka, Richmond and Seoul.
Their reports are produced without commercial sponsorship and advise travelers on sightseeing, shopping, dining, nightlife, fine arts, hotels, recreation, transportation, language and currency. They are designed for the needs of both business and leisure travelers.
They cost $13 for each city. Upgrades are free for a year.
"Imagine being able to store all you need to know about a destination in a six-ounce device, instead of having to pack several heavy books. All of a sudden you’ve lightened your load considerably," said David Horwich, president and CEO of neohand, creator of Palm-version of the Weissmann Travel Reports.

RE: Zagat survey
Does anyone know what the deal is here? Vindigo have not made any mention of the 2002 data set.
RE: Zagat survey
SD/MMC support is kind of a pain
Also, there doesn't seem to be any way to copy a main memory database to the MMC card. If you've installed it to main memory, it stays there.
That said, I'm glad to finally offload some of these databases to an external card.
