Make Your Visor Useful Asleep or Awake
JETLOG has released the 24x7 PowerNapping Springboard module, which lets users properly time their power naps to get the most benefit. Following sleeping strategies created by NASA for astronauts and pilots in flight, the module's onboard sensors time power naps according to the best sleep stages. It is available only from PalmGear for $100.
Properly timing naps to prevent deep sleep and dreaming not only relieves negative post nap effects such as grogginess, disorientation, or headaches, but also avoids later sleep loss, which would otherwise interfere with regular sleep.
It uses a touch-sensor located on the 24x7 PowerNapping Springboard module specifically designed to monitor a person's transitions into critical sleep stages. It initiates wake-up calls whenever the person who touches the sensor starts diving into deep sleep or dreaming by detecting a significant drop of correlated muscle tension.
"Managing tight time schedules has always been a core function of the handheld computer, and JETLOG's innovative approach will help busy, on-the-go people combat fatigue and maximize efficiency," said Rita Sharma, business development manager at Handspring.
JETLOG's 24x7 PowerNap software is based on BigClock 2.8. It allows simple application control and displays Total Nap Times as well as info such as optional timer and alarm settings on the main screen.
The module provides options for discrete wake-up calls via included headsets and personal wakeup call recordings over the Visor microphone.

If Only Palm had come up with this
$100? Is it just me or is that high.
The nerve of them. I guess they are hoping to make all the money back in a few sales at a high price point.
You could buy a whole lot of swatches for that price.
RE: $100? Is it just me or is that high.
About 100 times too high
Touch sensor, how does that work?
This is stupid product, no?
How many people are really going to attach themselves to this while they sleep?
H.
The eternal question
I'm sure there's a Swiss Army Springboard in the works... it just won't be finding its way into my Springboard port.
Blah blah blah

I would love to get this. This product, if it can with the visor, would almost convince me to buy a visor (i'm waiting for OS5, and ARM based CPUs).
Is it a little strange and wacky, YEAH! But it is a very nich product for insomniacs with heavy scheduals, like me.
If you don't like a product, don't bash it just becuase you dont like it. Atlest spend some time and make usefull comments, like some of you did.
don't mess with your sleep
