I sold my old m100 to sellyourpalm.net. I was a good experience all around, and made a nice down payment on the m130. I recommend them to anyone looking to sell their Palm fast.

No, thanks, I can sell my PDA at a better price on eBay.

You're right, you could probably make a little more selling it yourself....but it appears his hope is that there will be enough people that don't know how, or are just to lazy to do it themselves.

Honestly, I'm kicking myself in the ass for not thinking of it myself. I've been selling stuff for local friends on ebay for awhile. And they all throw me a little cash for the help/work.

I really wish I had thought of this.....and I don't want to be a d*ck and steal his idea.

Well, it may be his idea originally, but there's a lot of room for improvement on website design. Competition isn't a bad thing. Produce a nicer looking/easier to navigate website called sellthatpalm.com and you're off to the races.

I think the trade-up program is a good idea - I'll probably make use of it. It's certainly easier than selling and buying a used PDA on ebay - just use the "buy it now" option, send in the old unit and the price difference of the trade-in value. The only problem with it is that the "buy it now" price is too high - and that's the only way to trade up. I think there should be some option for the buyer to purchase at the highest bid price, then deduct the trade in value plus a trade-up fee.

Palm Web Browser

I.M. Anonymous @ 4/10/2002 9:34:53 AM #
Yesterday I called Palm Customer Support to ask when the web browser would be released. The person on the phone said that she didn't know what I was talking about. After quoting her employer's press release she then said, "Let me see if I can find out any information". She came back several minutes later and said that no date is available and to keep checking the Palm website.

Personally, I think it is ridiculous for a company (especially one struggling for good press as Palm) to issue a press release with a specific date, then completely miss it with no explanation.

Hopefully they will at least address the situation soon.

I have found that the customer support divisions of companies rarely know what the company is planning. The address current issues, not future. Whether that's a good idea...

Customer support is almost always contracted out to what is essentially a separate company. They don't know anything more than they've been told, and usually don't have a quick process to find out anything new.

As when you do have an in house customer support group, they're usually the last ones told about anything, and are treated like crap by the other departments.

As I have said before (and unfortunately): ever seen a chicken with its head cut off? It runs around bumping into things until it eventually runs out of juice and dies.
this is how i see palm. the company has not had a 'head' since jeff left and they are running out of juice.

What has Jeff done for me lately?

A Taco Bell ad?

That was Jeff BEZOS, founder of amazon.com.

*NOT* Jeff HAWKINS, inventor of the Palm.

Pay attention!

He sees wireless networking as the future and he intergrates PDA and mobile phone together. Is that enough or your want to hear more? Moron

One would think they would have had enough testing in before they issued a release date. Guess they couldn't keep it in their pants at CeBit only to be WRONG. Do I smell something dead around here. Must be PALM.

When you call these big companies, you don't actually speak to a Palm employee, you speak to an agency that has been hired by Palm to answer your questions.

They don't know anymore than what their Palm employer gives them in form of "scripts". The scripts are used to answer your questions.

I don't know why you're bothering calling anyways.. seems like a waste of time.
