New Versions of SnapperMail Available
SnapperMail, the Palm OS email client with features optimized for smartphones, has just been updated. The new version 1.9 supports handhelds with larger displays and a number of other improvements.
New features include support for searching messages, broader SSL compliance, and long awaited support for 480x320 resolution found in many of the latest wave of OS 5 devices such as the Palm Tungsten T3, Sony Clie NX/NZ/UX series, and the Tapwave Zodiac.
SnapperMail 1.9 marks the last major release in SnapperMail's POP3 roadmap. Internally, the company is focusing attention onto its long anticipated IMAP technology, slated for release as SnapperMail version 2.0 near the end of Q1 2004.
Version 1.9 is a free update. Existing customers can download the update. A free 30 day trial is also available. Due to popular request a less expensive version of SnapperMail, dubbed SnapperMail Lite, was released last month. Lite shares many of the powerful features found in the standard version but omits auto-fetching and account segregation. It is available $29.95.

RE: IMAP
I use it with DTG rather than QO, and it does a good job of handling attachments.
And the update installed without a hitch, which I can't say about every product :-)

RE: IMAP
Versamail has the advantage that it got bundled with most PalmOne devices and Snappmail is pretty expensive...

With great power comes great responsiblity.

RE: IMAP
palmOne says that there is no demo available for VersaMail. I had attempted to get a demo in the past before Snapper came along. VersaMail was included with my current device and looks like it it is reasonably competent. However, after using SnapperMail, I just can't go back. It's not that VersaMail is bad or anything, it's just that going back to a sedan after getting comfortable with a Ferrari or a Porsche is... well, you get the picture.
STARTTLS seems to work
