Mike Abbott Jumps to Twitter

mike abbott palm twitter Mike Abbott, Palm's high profile SVP departure from last Friday, resigned from Palm Inc. for a new position at Twitter according to a new report. TechCrunch writes that the former webOS chief will become the next vice president of engineering at Twitter.

Mr. Abbott joined Palm in 2008 and lead the team that developed webOS. Before joining Palm, Michael was the general manager of .NET Online Services at Microsoft. His executive bio is still live at palm.com and his last day of work in Sunnyvale is this Friday.

In addition, also indirect, Way Ting did indeed become an underling of Abbott and now is, theoretically, reporting direct to the CEO - assuming he still has the title SVP and still is an officer doesn't really explain the lack of Form 4.

The indirect message about IR's responses said nothing about Mary Doyle - shame.

He's having plenty to say these days on the Phandroid/Android Forums. He's counting the days until the HTC Evo 4G release for Sprint and has been busy rallying the troops over there. I just PM'd him the other day. I think it's safe to say that he is done with Palm for good but he's gonna keep his 128mb Centro (aka "arguably the best Palm device ever") around as an unconnected PDA & spare device.
