FCC Docs Suggest a AT&T webOS Release Date?

old tat logo With Verizon's WebOS launch firmly in the rearview mirror, AT&T remains the largest domestic carrier currently without any WebOS devices. While AT&T Mobility head honcho Ralph de la Vega already made a vague promise to offer two WebOS phones in the first half of 2010, Palm and AT&T have thus far remained mum on any specific release dates.

Thanks to some careful analysis of the FCC documentation, PreCentral forum member ToniCipriani has turned up some solid hints as to when we might expect the first GSM WebOS device to be officially available in the US. Give or take a few days, May 10th seems to be the target date for an AT&T launch, which would bring the arrival of the North American version of the GSM Pre (certified last year) within shouting distance of the one-year anniversary of the CDMA Pre launch on Sprint on June 6th of last year.

Unfortunately, no clues can be gleaned from the FCC ID numbers as to whether or not AT&T will be receiving a version of the 8GB GSM Pre making the rounds globally, or a version of the enhanced 16GB Pre Plus currently exclusive to Verizon. It's possible that Palm could even release a 32GB Pre on AT&T to trump both the Sprint and Verizon offerings.

Ryan,
Is there any way you can implement a user defined filter in the comments section. There are just some posts that are not worth reading and they are usually posted by the same people. It would be great if a user could specify certain users that they want blocked out when they are reading the comments.

That way people could filter me out when I post about how I refuse to see reality and move down from Garnet. And I could filter out posts from that anonymous alien. DOH! I mean I could filter out posts by people that I don't find interesting.

Or maybe a comment ranking system where some comments can be down ranked into oblivion.

By the way it seems like us newbies get no profile anymore. I did a quick test and it looks like it has trouble with any 5 digit id. 9999 works but 10000 doesn't. It returns an internal server error. You should be able to get the time stamp from between my two posts.

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

My User ID is 23550. Profile seems to work (at least mine did!).

I guess that it was an erroneous assumption on my part. I did try mine (35594) and a few below mine. Then I tried 9999 and 10000. Of the lot, only 9999 worked. Yours does work, so my assumption was incorrect.

Filtering users would be a good choice for people that do not include any reference to the subject. That may help keep people focused. Though some times good conversation develops from off topic discussions. This element of human interaction could be lost.

WebOS must assure that any access to content is secure. Such issue as identity theft must be addressed. We must learn from the past. Hence the need to develop new hardware to address the realities of computer crime. We-com virtual wallet customers interacting in and outside the box must have a product that is prototype before it goes to market that way the customers are assured what they want is in fact what they are getting. Does current hardware on the market provide wireless electronic commerce security where the customer wants to interact as defined by the will of the people that see value in such an offering?

We can learn from the past. Certainly when it comes to our data security we have paid dearly.

We can not innovate for fear. Once the fear is gone so to is the innovation. Innovating for peace is sustainable.

Innovation starts in the mind. Your opinion(s) have been noted. Though am fond of criticism find your constants attacks on my mind comical and appreciate the laughs.

Was Mr. Lee twisted for thinking and developing the World Wide Web or Ford for mass marketing the automobile? What of the Wright brothers. If they had listed to those that thought their minds were twisted this world would be a very different place.

A side from your humor do you have any concrete reasons why you think the development of an interactive we-com virtual wallet is "slim to none"?

True, i could go to market for capital to launch plan-et though the market needs the resources to sustain the peace. The thinking is if there is enough resources in the market after 2011 i would ask to assemble VC groups and put plan-et on the market to raise funds to build a we-com virtual wallet prototype. The prototype is called e-knarr.

Well I am "doing something" i'm thinking. Timing is important. i want to see sustainable peace in Afghanistan and Iraq. Had a war not broken out as a consequence of Saddam picking up the wrong phone many of us would be doing more with our thoughts. For now we just think of ways to have sustainable peace so we can build what we choose to build while appreciating the effort of or men and women in the service of our country so we may be free to innovate.

The we-com virtual wallet will have to have an OS that can interact with what the individual chooses. The core OS of a we-com virtual wallet must offer security of all digital financial transactions in and outside the box.

A prototype will assure we build a rock solid platform with fantastic form. We have two back pockets one is for our wallet.

Please continue to share your thoughts all are welcome. PDAs smartphones, webphones need more to do too.

There are companies that can work with a concept and build a prototype based on that concept. They need work too. Creating a we-com industry will take time. However the sooner we get started the sooner we will have put our thoughts to use. We can show the world how freedom to innovate offers solutions and sustainable economies without wars.

holly shit ET, a google search returns over 6000 links to "we-com virtual wallet" and I think most are posts by you.
If nobody has come forward to finance you by now, it's probably not that great of an idea.
Maybe you could better spend your time recruiting donations for those afflicted by wars and natural disaster and leave product development to those that know what they are doing (like Apple ;)

Innovation does not get to market without help from the financial community. This is a well known fact. Fortunately we have mechanisms in place that support innovative thoughts and are designed to help bring new thoughts to market. The reality is we can have the best ideas in the world. If the financial mechanism is distracted by failing economies and war these ideas go unnoticed. To keep the thoughts alive till such time as we have stability in the economy takes a tremendous amount of persistence and help from family and friends. Some countries are better than others at embracing innovation and better at providing financial support to the innovative segment of their economy. Brain drain starts with brain strain and can lead to lost innovative benefit or intellectual genocide. There is much benefit to the global economy from the innovative segment of the economy even while there is no financial benefit intellectually it stimulates the thinking part of the economy and offers a future of possibilities.

Innovative ideas like we-com virtual wallet are intellectual first and offer capital a place to grow while encouraging peaceful interaction.

To date a we-com virtual wallet as defined by RAVEN does not exist. A digital, efficient, secure interactive option to an analog wallet is being proposed that interact with all commerce environments as defined by our research. We are not re-inventing the wheel this is brand new technology intended to take e-commerce and mobile commerce into the next century. A future of we-com interaction that makes one dimensional billboards a thing of the past. Where people can support their charity of choice directly from any digital medium of choice with peace of mind that the aid is going as agreed.
