Power By Hand Merges With Pinpoint

Power By Hand, the company behind PalmGear and Palm Digital Media, has announced it will merge with Pinpoint networks to create a new global, cross-platform mobile devices content company. The company has also announced the acquisition of two windows mobile software websites.

Power By Hand and Pinpoint are merging to bring our customers a unified solution for mobile content across content types and across distribution channels. The merged company will be led by Ryan Wuerch, CEO of PBH, as chairman & chief executive officer and Jud Bowman, co-founder and CEO of Pinpoint, as president & chief operating officer.

"As the leader in the mobile content industry, this merger will enable us to strengthen our vision of bringing together leading content, technology and distribution channels," said Wuerch. "By combining our resources, as well as the experience and talent of our employees, we will be strongly positioned to meet the expanding needs of the mobile content and handheld marketplace."

Power By Hand also announced the acquisition of leading windows mobile portal sites PocketGear.com and SmartPhone.net, further expanding the company's content catalog to the Windows Mobile platforms.

"The combination of Pinpoint and Power By Hand will create a global leader providing mobile content delivery services and a marketplace for developers to distribute mobile content," explained Bowman. "The merged company will be strongly positioned to capitalize on the explosive growth of mobile data services."
