Verizon To Offer the Pre in Early 2010
Verizon Wireless has once again committed itself to the Palm Pre. During their quarterly earnings conference call this morning VZW company executives again confirmed that they plan to carry the Palm Pre sometime early next year.
In response to an analyst question about future and competing handsets Verizon's CEO Denny Strigl remarked:
You can expect to see a steady stream of attractive devices coming from Verizon wireless [...] we plan to offer the Palm Pre early next year.
Sprint's exclusive deal on the Pre will supposedly expire at the end of 2009. It's two main rivals, AT&T and Verizon, have both stated their intentions to offer the Pre once Sprint's term ends.

RE: Yeah! And AT&T too.
We have been told that the Pre has Treo-like margins but no one has said if it has Treo-like revenue - you know, ASPs like the Treos. Some of us have taken that $170-ish estimated build cost and added in 35-ish% margins and come up with ASPs like $275. Is that Treo-like? I think it's a little lower than Treo-like, at least original Treo-like.
So what does it all mean?
Maybe it means Palm sells Pres to the major carriers yet still fails to move back into the black because the Pre simply replaces the Pro (or 800w).
Eh, maybe next year...

Got me to switch
I reviewed Sprint & Verizon up & down comparing the two companies. Being a Nascar fan that also added to the benefits of Sprint. Do I see a noticeable difference in service, no. With the data plan, yes as I think that Sprint has a better download rate & less timeouts.
My wife & I both got the Pre. My wife is not exactly a technical person & said she just wants a phone. The calendaring possibilites syncing between multiple calendars are amazing.
Sprint won me over so far, & I hope they continue to win others over as well.
