Wednesday, April 12, 2006 11:37:46 AM
Toysoft has released a new utility called VideoTones for Palm Treo smartphones that adds video ringtones and also acts as a mp3/wav/ogg/avi file ringtone manager. The software also adds North America area codes so you can see what area incoming calls are coming from.
VideoTones v1.0 sells for $19.95 and there is a free trial available for download. It supports the Treo 650 and 600.

RE: 20 bucks, eh?
I think this is pretty cool. How about a short video of your child saying pick up the phone, or a short clip from 24 or any other TV show? Just a few ideas, I can think of many. I don't know of any other phone that has this feature. Quite original, and all for the price of 7 gallons of gas. :)
RE: 20 bucks, eh?
No offense, but it seems like a solution to a problem that doesn't exist. Who wants to watch a video when the phone rings. I either want to pick up the call before it goes to VM, or I want to stop the ringing and *make* it go to VM.
