Sprint webOS Devices Now Free from HP

palm discount webos Long past reaching their relative expiration dates, the oldest WebOS devices—Sprint's original Pre and Pixi—have finally seen a price drop from HP's official Wireless Central store.

Sprint's two 2009-era WebOS devices are finally "free" from HP with the usual two-year contractual commitment. Of course, the devices are still being sold for $149.99 (after $100 rebate) and $49.99 (after $100 rebate) directly from Sprint but at least WebOS diehards on Sprint who don't yet have a device can get one directly from HP without having to shell out any upfront bucks. In addition, a $50 gift card is being offered for both Sprint WebOS devices.

On a related note, the newer, and Pre Plus on Verizon and AT&T still remain more compelling offerings from HP's Wireless Central, with the $50 Gift Card for Pixi Plus purchasers and a free Touchstone dock for Pre Plus customers. In addition, Verizon's free wi-fi hotspot service is still being offered for no additional monthly fee for both of their WebOS handsets.
