Leaked Pre Spy Shots Show YouTube App
EveythingPre and the TreoCentral forums have picked up and posted a set of newly leaked Palm Pre spy shots. The new pics were apparently posted to a Twitter account this afternoon and then quickly pulled.
While yet another round of pics of the Pre is not usually notable, one of the included shot shows a previously unseen native YouTube application. The blurry, and presumably camera-phone snapped shots, appear to have been taken today. The other images show a close up of the email composition screen and a quick size comparison with an iPhone.

No one else in the world even knows about the Pre.
Or if they DO know about the Pre, it's because of Howard Stern saying the Blackberry was better of "Angelina Jolie" saying the screen scratches too easily.

Definition of: vaporware
Software that is not yet in production, but the announced delivery date has long since passed.
So help me with my memory. When has Palm announced the delivery date will be? (Notice that I used the word "will", which points to some date in the future, which should give you at least a little bit of a clue that the date has not yet passed.) And, according to the definition you pointed me to, that date very obviously has not "long since passed."
So is it a language problem for you or some other kind of comprehension deficiency? Why is it you keep having the same problem over and over again misunderstanding that word?

I did exactly what you told me to. I clicked on the link YOU gave me. The first link in that list was a "dictionary site". YOU told me to stay away from the dictionary sites, so I clicked on the second one, which was the PC Mag site. I took the first definition I saw. I looked no further. It really was that easy.

In the interest of fair play, and for the record, I believe it was one my posts a few weeks back that got this latest lexicon volley going. As an 11 year lurker and recent registrant on this site, the back and forth simultaneously escalated and degenerated so quickly I hesitated to step back in until it re-combusted here. The debate of the term has a history here that long predates my post, but I think it was TwoRock that chided me on its use.
At the time, I did not intend to use the word disparagingly in relation to the Pre, but pulled from the colloquial use. It came to mind after an unrelated conversation with an attorney over a patent defense for a product that was never produced by the filer, and we had parsed the meaning of the word ad nauseum. These three references were pulled, in addition to the normal dictionary sources, without much adverse selection or digging.

When posted, the Pre release date was even more general that it is now, and the feature set was still fluid and being defined. I recall OS6/Cobalt and the Foleo were also referenced; two Palm non-products in which I don't think anyone would argue the term was incorrectly applied. I believe the first paragraph of the Wikipedia page fit the situation well after the initial announcement with the information at hand. Arguments could be made that the product description fit(s) 2 or more of the 5 "types" listed in the first citation from Wikipedia. OTO, as we move closer to the release date I suppose the last sentence there takes more importance, if anyone gives importance at all to Wikipedia.
The second citation in Wiktionary was (and still is) fairly representative of the differences in the use and "street" meanings of this term, even within the tech industry, especially as evidenced by the history of of the page mods and contributions. The descriptions here could be lead it to be labeled either an "idiom" or "vulgarism" depending on your perspective.
The last one showed up on the the lawsuit and is fairly benign.
For anyone who has thought my posts worth reading, I think you'll glean that while my past frustration with Palm has built some healthy skepticism of the pending execution of the Pre and its related product set, I have hope and nostalgia for everything Palm, despite the fact that the final product may or may not be for me. I have no agenda further than that except that I need to make a decision on my next smartphone purchase soon, if my 755p dies for the 6th time. With little exception, I appreciate the (mostly) erudite opinions here.
