Echo Syncs Palm Desktop with webOS

echo palm desktop pre webos Chapura has released Echo for Palm Desktop for webOS and the Palm Pre. Echo is designed to bring two way synchronization between the Palm Desktop Date Book and Address Book with the Pre's Calendar and Contacts applications. The software currently works with a Windows based PC component and the Echo application on the Pre. The software links up with the host machine wirelessly via WiFi. It works with Palm Desktop 6.2.2 and above. Chapura promises a free update at some point which will add the ability to sync Tasks and Notes.

The application is now listed in the Palm App Catalog. The PC component is available from Chapura and costs $29.95.

When will there be a sync tool for this (obvious) omission/deficiency? Syncing with Outlook desktop was one of the great features of Garnet.

Palm's just wasting time and resources on the iTunes syncing feature?!?!

Why couldn't think be he default with WebOS?

No desktop progarm to write and maintain. No updating to Windows 7...8...9, no clients complaining, "Youre stupid conduits messed my data". Let the clients pay another $30 for a premium phone to do what it needs to do out of the box.

Palm never hid the fact that it didn't directly sync to your desktop. Palm no longer believes in Palm Desktop as a working solution for scheduling. In fact, it clearly did not believe in it for years, as it was expecting you to sync with Outlook rather than Palm Desktop.

Palm needed to have the sync to Outlook available out of the gate - and it did through Google sync.
