The past few weeks have been some of the most interesting in the Palm Platform's history, with handheld releases and new rumors of products coming out almost every day. In all this excitement, a lot of smaller news has gone by the wayside. In an attempt to make up for this, as much of these announcements as possible are available in this article.

Visor Edge Has Flash ROM Chip
Reader Mardy Marshall sent in a report of the discovery he made when he disassembled his new Visor Edge:
-
Being the type of person that can't resist taking something apart in order to find out how it works, I desecrated my new Visor Edge. The discovery that resulted is that either by choice or as a result of parts issues, Handspring used a Hyundai HY29LV160BT-90V Flash part instead of the usual masked ROM. Unfortunately, neither FlashPro nor JackFlash seem to recognize the FLASH memory.

flash rom is everywhere :)
BUT we'll NEVER be able to use that, it's meant "for internal use only"(ie: Handspring's labs), to burn patches into rom and stuff like this.
and nope to acess it via existing software, maybe if someone starts coding sometin from scratch it will be possible in the future
