Palm has released Palm Desktop 4.0.1 for Windows, which adds support for synchronization with USB devices, support for devices with expansion slots and synchronization with handhelds running OS 4.0. -Ed

Gethightech.com carries screen repair kits for $45-$55. They also have a special on Pentopia Chameleon Stylus/Pen $10 and new Palm III series cradles for $16. -Gethightech

An .exe in an archive, in an .exe, in an archive...

In that Palm Desktop 4.01 there are lots of levels. Does anyone know if you have to run PalmDesktop_401_ENG.exe or if you can just run the setup.exe that's in that last archive?

Can you make it work for Visor?

I never could get 4.0 to work with my Visor. Is it possible?

Yes, it will work for the Visor. Version 4.0.1 incorporates USB support, which isn't surprising as they prepare for the M-500 generation. Al D.

is this a needed upgrade to us 3xe users. we have no usb, os4 does us no good. palm might as well said that we don't need desktop 4.0.1 either

Desktop 4.0.1 should work with any Palm. I think it has been updated primarily to accomodate the new M505 models that do sync via USB.

If you don't have any issues with your current software, there is no need to change it.

I have a Sony Clie, and I was not able to sync via USB, but Palm's site says specifically that this is only supported on Palm branded devices, so I wasn't too disappointed. I only have to wait until Sony updates the software for the Clie.

4.01 has bad file

The version of hotsync 4.0 on the website has a bad conduit manager .dll file. I stumbled onto it when I installed 4,0 & GoSync wouldn't work. They may have caught it by now.

Excel, Word, Clipboard. I liked those little icons in bottom right corner in Desktop 3.0. I know you can right click, but I like drag/drop!!!!! Anybody agree????

Vx Digitizer - need one
