Site Upgrade Causes 'Issues'
Yesterday, the Palm Infocenter was moved to better servers. This will increase the site's speed while handling the ever-increasing amount of traffic. However, the switch didn't go as smoothly as might be hoped. The site was down for a while on Friday afternoon and there is a bug preventing comments from being posted. We've notified the hosting company of this but getting it fixed during a weekend is problematic. In the mean time, the Forums are working fine if you have something you would like to talk about. Sorry for any inconvenience.
UPDATE: The Database issues have been resolved. You can post comments again. Should anyone spot any more bugs, please drop me an email. -Ryan

Pocket PC will always rule - wake up and smell the coffee
Palm based devices are simply very expensive organizers, not much better than the .50 cent note pad you can buy at a local Walmart.
If you want the real thing you buy a Pocket PC, if you want a useless toy that will be obsolote in 2 weeks then you get a Palm.
When will you pimple faced kids wake up and smell the coffee?

RE: good to know
They made this prediction even after looking at Pocket PC 2002 and the new handhelds that will be released using it. They appear to think that these won''t be enough to increase Microsoft''s share of the market and certainly not enough to overshadow the Palm OS for at least 4 more years.
IDC analyst Alex Slawsby says this is because corporations have been less aggressive in adopting handheld computers than predicted. Microsoft has done everything it could to make large corporations like their OS and they weren''t interested. This isn''t my opinion, it''s Slawsby''s.
That gives Palm Inc. at least 4 years, which is about 3 more that will be necessary to come out with OS 5 on ARM chips, which will negate even the percieved Pocket PC advantages. Ignore what the doomsayers and MicroSerfs say, the Palm OS will continue to dominate the handheld market through at least 2005.
p.s. Did I mention that the Palm OS will continue to dominate the handheld market through at least 2005?
PocketPC Morons

I was wondering why a PocketPC type person would be at the Palm Infocenter and maybe its:
a) Needed something to do while PPC gets its third recharge of the day;
b) After watching entire movie on PPC screen, doctor advised not using it for a week until he recovers from severe eyestrain, headaches;
c) Wondering what realization that everyone who owns a PPC is a huge nerd means about him;
d) Ran out of things to do with PPC after second day;
e) Working late at second job trying to scrape up $650 for handheld;
f) Trying to meet girls because there weren't any on the PPC forums or Dragoncon; or
g) Deep down, realizes he's made a bad, bad mistake.
