i was thinking the same thing last night. If i have a BT card in the slot, what/where am i supposed to do/put the SD card?
May be, just may be, the BT might have memory capacity but i doubt that. Besides, where are all the phones that can use the BT feature. So far in the US, i haven't seen any.
Talk about creating solutions to problems that haven't been made :)

So just because you haven't seen any there aren't any? Ericsson T39, Ericsson T68, soon also the Nokia 6310, and then there is the bluetooth pack for the Nokia 6210. It is funny that I've been using a bluetooth phone for over a month (long time when it comes to tech like this) and then some moron comes along and claims there are no bluetooth phones.
And yes there are not many bluetooth phones in the us, that's because the us mobile market sucks. Import if you want to stay up to date, but don't b*tch if you're running behind.

Maybe the major cellular services aren't selling bluetooth phones *YET*, but you can DEFINITELY purchase these phone in the US right now from retailers.

Ericsson has three models with BT:
R520 (been avalibel since April)
T39 (since July)
T68 (just released)
And the bluetooth plug that adds bt functionality to ANY recent ericsson phone..
Nokia has a bluetooth battery for the 6150 and they're about to come out with a version with built in bt.. and I'm sure Motorola etc will follow..

All together, it works easier than I thought at all. From my point of view I was a little bit afraid, that all the connection types aren't interoperable and incompatible. But it was only one click that the Pocket PC recognize the mobile phone by Bluetooth and 3 taps more (the first time only) to connect the Internet wireless with a unwired connection between the Pocket PC and the mobile phone.
I see a bright future for Bluetooth, hopefully we will see more mobile phones and integrated Pocket PCs soon! Till than the AnyCom card seems to work perfect for me. Another question isn't answered after half day testing: how long will the battery works with Bluetooth and is there a battery drain. I will observer this within the next days. Also I can compare how the PC card work against the CF card.

File transfer works just perfect. I never accessed another Pocket PC or Notebook so easy as by using Bluetooth. It's just a tap to search the right devices and after you've got it, you can start copying files.
Unfortunately, ActiveSync* isn't supported right now, which means you can not use Bluetooth to synch your Pocket PC with your PC. I wonder if this will be implemented in a later version. From my point of view it would makes so much sense.
Anyhow, in this early days of Bluetooth this Bluetooth profile works just great and I'm sure all Bluetooth vendors are just working to enhance the possibilities and try to merge the transmission technology with the available services!

...I had an interesting talk with a former Ericsson employee today who was co-working on the T68 and he gave me some interesting additional information. The most, I was interested was the UI. Well, I already saw the phone on CeBIT however, I'm not able to remind the interface. But it was announced as a new kind of Ericsson interfaces, therefore I was interested most in this topic as I can imagine all other features.
He told me, that it mostly works with Windows kind of icons. You navigate with the joystick in the middle (the joystick is the most important UI change as the former well known "Yes"/"No" logic is gone now). But he also attests the display some weakness on outside use as the color display seems hard to be read. Hm... this is something I already know from somewhere - but where!? ;-)
However, I'm excited to get it and hold it on my hand. I want to use it's Bluetooth/GPRS feature and looks for the User Interface.

I don't care, I'm just really not happy with that, and I desperately am trying to get a new phone. I think I've secured one, but it leaved me with an unwanted t39 (slim battery though), if anyone wants it for around £180 (box and everything) just email me at sameen@usitmail.com and I'll discuss it with you.
Shame because I loved the battery life of the phone..absolutely fabulous.

Didn't we see this coming?
First people want to know when we're going to get bluetooth for our SD slots. When when when.
Then, once a picture is actually taken of one, the question finally arises. "Where will I put all my stuff?"
I don't think this should be a suprise to anyone. The SD slot is the only expansion for the M's except for the universal/serial port. So, if we don't want a sled, we loose our expansion slot.
Just highlighting the nitty-gritty.
The BT card Rocks!
And yes, it does stick out a bit, but so do most other wireless devices. I use the Palm leather case so it's not a problem. Slot contention has not been a problem so far - but more on board memory would be nice...
The sub-$150 expected price tag has scored well with most people I've talked to about it - it's certainly cheaper than the BT sleds that are going around for the V series (Red-M, Sunderland, Tactel/TDK etc)

No it does not have internal memory. And YES, it's a bit long, it stays out of the Palm, and a friend had that leather case with 4 slots for SD, and it sticks out of the case... So Palm will need to make new leather cases.
And he told us for xmas it will be at the stores, or even before.
