Project Ares 1.0 Released

Palm's innovative new development tool for webOS is now out of beta and has officially gone 1.0. Project Ares is a complete webOS development environment in a web browser. Its aim is to simplify and lower the entry barrier for developing webOS applications by allowing developers to code, debug and build webOS apps within a standard desktop web browser.

Version 1.0 has added a number of new features and tools for developers. Palm has posted article covering the highlights of the new release as well as a number of developer tutorials. Some of the additions include new interface free components, revised toolbars, find and replace, JSLint integration, Google Maps wrappers, code beautification functions and lots of bug fixes.

Mike, what the hell does your blog page have to do with this thread? You should be ragging on Palm, not Lenovo. Something like "does anyone care?" or "The software guys at Palm are busting ass to try to make up for the shit management handed them!"

gmayhak, the folks at and from Palm have history of thoughtful work while working hard to assure the customer gets what is expected and in some cases exceeding expectation.

It is nice to see that recognition. "The software guys at Palm are busting ass to try to make up for the shit management handed them!"

There is an i in innovation not team.

Moron! webOS isn't WINDOWS. Lenovo and Asus should be using THAT. I'll remember next time that you lack the ability to see that after A and B comes C.

Well one of Palm's advantages is that they are not insulting people.

It's comical how one person starts insulting people and next you have angry people. Communication skills can be learned or perhaps honed.

Is it better to make friends? Do some friends have healthy debate? Does healthy debate require insults?

Why is the word ship in friendship?

Just some friendly happy thoughts to kick around.
