TextPayMe New Mobile SMS Payment Service
TextPayMe is a new service that allows users to send money via text messaging. The service makes it possible to send and receive money using just your mobile phone.
TextPayMe is currently in public beta testing. Once you sign up for an account you can send and receive cash via SMS messages. It works by linking your account to a bank account or credit card. It is compatible with virtually every mobile phone model across all major carriers in the United States. TextPayMe allows customers to start instantly without having to install any applications.
The recent and phenomenal growth of local classified websites (such as Craigslist) precipitates the demand for a fast and secure method of exchanging payment. Prior to TextPayMe, there was no easy way for users to purchase items from such marketplaces: Shoppers are, with good reason, increasingly reluctant to use checks to purchase items from strangers for fear of identity theft. (And checks don't offer sellers any guarantee!) Carrying a large amount of cash is equally inconvenient. Now, thanks to TextPayMe, users have a means of exchanging payment that is both simple and secure, and right at their fingertips.
The company is currently running a promotion where they will give you an Xbox 360 if you refer 36 new people to the service. So if you plan on signing up, please use the image link below and PalmInfocenter will get a referral credit. If we get enough referrals, I will give the Xbox 360 system away on PalmInfocenter. You also get $5 free in your account just for signing up and it took me less than 2 minutes to get setup.
Thanks to Palmsolo for the tip.

Referral update
Its funny that over 1500 people have read this article so far and only 16 signed up. I didn't have to give my credit card or bank account to sign up. So if you are nervous about that don't worry. All I had to do was register and respond to the authentication sms, took 2 minutes.

UK & European Coverage?
Would be a welcome new way for one-man software houses to receive payment from satisfied customers at the end of a trial period.
